Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration in Ouray
Old fashioned Fourth of July Celebration.
On the Fourth of July, Ouray pulls out the stops and throws a day long party with something for everyone. The day kicks off with Pancake breakfast at the Community Center followed by Ourayce, an informal 10K race starting at City Hall.
At 10:00 am, the town turns out for a parade down Main Street.
At 2:00 pm, the famous waterhose fights, where those watching the teams battle for the title, get as wet as the participants.
Live music, picnics and other family activities are happening all day.
At dusk, a torchlight parade comes down the mountain signalling the start of a spectacular fireworks display. Put a blanket on the front lawn or watch from your room. Those staying at the Victorian Inn have the best seat in town for the show.
