 The miners of the late 1800's and early 1900's had a hard life; some living at elevations of 10,000 to 13,000 feet through both the beautiful summer months and extremely cold winter months. Men and women came to the mountains to seek their fortunes -- some succeeding, few striking it rich and some going home with nothing.
