The crystal-clear water, free from the strong smell of sulfur typical of many hot springs, makes the Ouray Hot Springs Pool more enjoyable and popular with visitors from around the world.
Ouray's Natural Hot Springs Pool was constructed in 1927 after six years of planning and delays. The local residents and officials had seen it as a way of attracting more tourists to the community. Attended by the largest crowd of visitors ever to assemble in Ouray, the opening of the Pool was July 4th, 1927.
Ouray now offers a 250 by 150 foot public pool containing over a million gallons of natural hot springs water. In addition to several soaking sections at a variety of temperatures ranging from 96 to 106 degrees, the pool has a lap swimming section, a diving area and a game area for water volleyball. The crystal-clear water, free from the strong smell of sulfur typical of many hot springs, makes the Ouray Hot Springs Pool more enjoyable and popular with visitors from around the world.

Revitalizing in the Ouray Hot Springs Pool has become popular with visitors year-round. Guests enjoy soaking in the summer after returning from a day of hiking, four-wheeling or other outdoor activity. But, slowly lowering yourself into 106-degree hot springs water after a winter cross-country ski trek in the San Juans or a challenging day at the Ouray Ice Park is the ultimate experience.
The bathhouse has a full range of conveniences including showers, hair dryers, play pen and changing table for infants. Daily rates for use of the pool are $8 for adults, $6 for both students (ages 7-17) and seniors (65+) and $3 for children (ages 3-6). There is also an economical, family all-day pass for larger families (2 adults/3 children). Towel rental is $2 and lockers are .25 cents.

Floating in the Pool Immediately following Memorial Day Weekend, pool hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Check for hours during the balance of the year.
Adjacent to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool is a 1/4-mile running track, tennis courts, playground,softball diamond, horseshoe pit, barbecue grills and picnic tables. Spend the day with your family or friends enjoying a day of old-fashioned fun.
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center is on the second level of the bathhouse and has exercise equipment available for $8 to nonmembers. An all-day fee for use of the pool and fitness center is $10.
